What is MUJI?
The term MUJI comes from the ﬁrst part of Mujirushi Ryōhin, converted as " No Brand Quality Products. ”
MUJI began in the early 1980s as a private/generic brand of the Seiyu price cut department store.
MUJI is known by the design minimalism, emphasis on recycling where possible, avoidance of waste in production and packaging, and no-logo or perhaps " nobrand" policy.
In 1980 Mujirushi Ryōhin unwraps in the chain store.
In 1983, the ﬁrst directly operated Mujirushi Ryōhin store opened. In 1985, started abroad production and procurement.
In year 1986, started to place direct manufacturer orders.
In 1987 Muji started to develop material globally.
In 1989, Ryohin Keikaku Limited became the maker and dealer for all Mujirushi Ryōhin companies operations.
In 1991, ﬁrst international retail store opened working in london, UK.
In 1995, shares in " Muji Tsunan Campsite” had been registered while over-thecounter stocks of The japanese Securities Dealers Association. Over 10 years ago, listed on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. 2001 onwards, it was on the ﬁrst section.
The brand brand ”MUJI" has been used as 1999.
Ikko Tanaka (January 13, 1930 – January 10, 2002) was a famous Japanese web designer. The attribute of his designs can be described as blending of deeply grounded Japanese customs with american modernism to produce contemporary image expression. Tanaka studied
fine art at the Kyoto City University of Fine Arts. This individual
worked in the Sankei Shinbun, and therefore
established his ﬁrst design studio in Tokyo, the
Ikko Tanaka Design Studio room, in 1963. He features
received a lot of awards, posted several
literature, has curated and designed exhibitions
during Japan. Tanaka articulated the MUJI
perspective and appearance, and he supplied ideas
and prototypes that visualized the look
He worked as MUJI's fine art director till 2001.
Given birth to in Tokyo in 1936. As a starting member of the MUJI advisory board and a sales letter writer, Koike features played a working part in conceptualising MUJI. She has recently been the head of MUJI's
Lab for Better Living since 2009.
From 1983 to 2000, your woman established and
directed Sagacho Exhibit Space,
Japan's ﬁrst alternative space. Koike's
curatorial works examine the restrictions
between ﬁelds of fine art, design and fashion
from a viewpoint of design research.
She has written and edited various books,
which include, ISSEY MIYAKE - East Meets
Western, JAPANESE COLOUR, and
JAPAN DESIGN (art direction by simply Ikko
MUJI items are not related to individual designers. MUJI features stated that some of usana products have been the works of famous worldwide designers, though it does not reveal which ones. There are, however , a few designers who made their involvement open public.
