" The Death Procedure in Ancient Egypt”

During ancient Egyptian times when a death took place the family members of the deceased played a massive role in the death method. This process required approximately seventy-two days and consisted of several events and ceremonies. The Egyptians took these traditions very significantly. Ancient Egyptians had strong beliefs in the afterlife, including elaborate loss of life ceremonies and mummification.

Not only would the death process have seventy-two times but the family and friends of the deceased would also mourn for that length of time. 1 The various process/rituals consisted of mummification, casting magic spells, and specific funeral techniques. Most the components in this procedure were persistent although, the extent of the process was usually based upon social rating.

The major role with this procedure was mummification. Almost every Egyptian was mummified when they passed away. Due to social position, every person was mummified in different ways. " The indegent were basically packed and dried in the sunshine and the rich were wrapped with bed linens. ”2 Throughout the mummification process all the bodily organs were eliminated and include in four distinct jars every single under the security of a particular genius. 3 The corpse's brain was even taken out. After all with the organs were taken out, the body was cleaned with wines and the body cavities were packed with spices. The dearly departed then was seeped in perfume for several weeks.
